And most everyone who goes out to eat during RW is a local.

Do you forget that every regular customer you have now, ate at your restaurant for the first time at some point? Were they also idiots the first time they came in?Jamiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04089108417465569092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6943915079598040271.post-63152000780664444392009-12-17T17:22:29.144+00:002009-12-17T17:22:29.144+00:00I work in a DC restaurant that does not participat...I work in a DC restaurant that does not participate in Restaurant Week and I'm so thankful! Diners during that time border on idiotic and most of them won't return regardless of how stellar the service is. Cheers to regular clientele :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6943915079598040271.post-75648050347983949212009-12-17T14:27:55.297+00:002009-12-17T14:27:55.297+00:00They have a similar Restaurant Week here in São Pa...They have a similar Restaurant Week here in São Paulo at around the same time - late August and/or early September. That's the winter doldrums here. in São Paulo. I haven't gone yet, but I intend to in 2010.
The restaurant owners I saw talking about the event on my teevee some months ago were making the right noises, talking about how it's an investment to bring in more customers who might not otherwise even enter their restaurants.
I just found the site for Restaurant Week in Brazil and found out that Restaurant Week started in New York about 17 years ago and has been copied in many cities around the world.
Whoa... and just because São Paulo is twice as big as New York, it looks like São Paulo had two Restaurant Weeks in 2009: one in March and the other in August-September. Plus it looks like each of the two "Restaurant Weeks" lasted about two weeks. Here's hopin' there's another in March of 2010 (post-carnaval doldrums). Then I won't have to wait until next August to check out RW.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16684714516449238724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6943915079598040271.post-78390968699903289832009-12-16T21:33:32.744+00:002009-12-16T21:33:32.744+00:00But, it's a delicacy on Klingon! But, it's a delicacy on Klingon!Jamiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04089108417465569092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6943915079598040271.post-42466700063395335702009-12-16T21:27:40.424+00:002009-12-16T21:27:40.424+00:00It's official.
